CWA, NOIDA

The abbreviation CWA stands for Catholic Women’s Association, Noida. In the past there was something called mothers’ group in the parish that was initiated for prayer for families. But due to various reasons the group ceased to function in its full force. This Jubilee year (2011) it was the desire of the women members of the parish to come together once again and regroup themselves as one association for the good of the parish and its people. The first meeting to decide upon the new form and mission of the renewed group was held on 3rd July 2011, the Feast of St. Thomas the Apostle in the presence of Rev. Fr. Jacob Palamattom.   The discussions were very fruitful as every member present wanted a renewed and active women’s association in the parish. In the subsequent meetings the following things were decided:

Name: Catholic Women’s Association (CWA), Noida.

The Patroness of the Association: St. Monica (Patroness of difficult marriages and disappointing children)

The Mission: a) To Pray for the sanctification of all the families in Noida. b) To assist the needy in the society. c)To assist the Parish Priest in any work of evangelization. d)To sensitize women on related issues. e) To help women come together and share common issues.

Activities: Prayer for families, House visits, Helping  the needy through counsel, sacrifices (like time, money and material).

The basic aim of the association is to help the women to have a common platform to meet and pray together. Women truly are a great force of prayer. One of the greatest contribution expected of this association is that they regularly pray for the spiritual well being of the parish and the families therein. The constant intercessions of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Monica may strengthen the association to be faithful to its mission and activities and may many more generous women join this association.

Membership: All women above thirty years of age are eligible to become members of this Association
